Vietnam Veterans Of America Welcomes New Members

MANCHESTER - Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 855, invite you to join them in supporting the concerns and needs of Vietnam-era veterans. They are located in Ocean County, and welcome as members all men and women that are Vietnam-Era veterans, who served on active duty for other than training purposes, between January 1,1959 and May 7,1975. Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America is comprised of family, friends and the general public who are interested in supporting the concerns and needs of Vietnam-era veterans.

In order to fulfill the obligation we all have to our veterans, they ask you to join VVA/AVVA 855 and be a part of some of the many programs this chapter provides to our veterans which include the following. In the schools: Veterans Against Drugs, Partners in Education, American and POW/ MIA flag donations and dedication ceremonies, pet therapy and pet care/awareness among others.

In nursing/long term care facilities: pet therapy and patient visits, patriotic programs for veterans and Memorial Day, American and POW/MIA flag donations and dedications.

Other programs include various food donations, toy distribution and pet assistance to rescue shelters, as needed and much more than that.

VVA/AVVA855 has speakers programs available on Vietnam, drugs and crisis intervention, veteran's benefits, etc. The chapter is available for community events and takes part in community projects as needed. They meet in the Manchester Municipal Building Civic Center, 1 Colonial Drive.
