New Concert Series Comes To Downtown Toms River

TOMS RIVER - Where can you findthree fabulous nights of live musical entertainment featuring three different music genres and one fantastic setting? The answer is Huddy Park, where you can relax riverside while you enjoy the new Concerts in the Park events presented by Downtown Toms River. Enjoy three great nights of free live musical entertainment, with something for every musical taste. Concerts in the Park will take place on June 28, July 26 and August 23 (rain date is the following day).

The river will be rockin' on June 28 when featured performers deSol, the Latino rock 'n roll sensation who have opened for groups such as Los Lonely Boys, take the stage. The first event also kicks off with talented students from The Music Academy performing their spring concert from 1 to 5 p.m. July 26 brings bluegrass to the river, with featured performances by Up & Running, Past Times, who play a blend of traditional bluegrass and bluegrass gospel, and The Last Whipper Wills. The August 23 concert brings the sound of blues to the river, with the legendary Billy Hector Trio and the Sonny Kenn Band. At each event from 5 to 7 p.m., radio station WJRZ will entertain with music, games and contests, and featured performances will begin at 7 p.m.

Hungry concertgoers will be able to purchase food and snacks from concessions at the event, and attendees should bring a blanket or lawn chairs to sit on. Concerts in the Park is sponsored by The Music Academy, FirstEnergy Foundation, JCP&L, United Water Toms River, Mr. Alan's Florist, Comcast, New Jersey Natural Gas and radio stations WJRZ and the WRAT. Huddy Park is located at the intersection of Main and Water streets in downtown Toms River.
